New on the market is a series of DVD guides covering some of the major UK National Trails - Hadrian's Wall Path, The Cotswold Way, The Ridgeway and The South Downs Way.

The DVDs have been written and presented by National Trail expert Anthony Burton and are being produced by TV Walks.

Burton, who has written many National Trail books and seems like a jolly sort of fella from the online trailers, says:

"The purpose of these Guides is to inspire walkers to explore parts of our countryside they may not have previously considered.

"Each DVD has stunning photography of the actual walk and the glorious countryside we travel through. The photography is complemented by interesting insights into the history and geography associated with each walk."

The next guides planned are to cover the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the Thames Path National Trails, so the emphasis at the moment seems to be on the southern part of the UK.

The guides can be downloaded to video iPods or MP4 players for £6.00 or bought on DVD from the TV Walks web site for £12 including postage and packing.
