Organise your trips to mountain festivals, film nights, and outdoor shows with our new events calendar ...

You want to watch the Best of Kendal Film evening, go for a walk with Alan Hinkes in Keswick, call into the Fort William Mountain festival before it finishes, and have a peep at one of the new Alpkit dry bags at the Outdoors Show, but unfortunately you can't find your diary. It could be hidden under the bundle of kit that you haven't got round to putting away after your last outing in the hills, or perhaps the dog ate it. Either way, you don't want to double book yourself, and you're a bit stuck without knowing what's happening when in the world of the outdoors ...
Well, we've decided it's time to put our lives in order here on OM and come up with a solution. The result? The new events calendar (and that's not the waterproof breathable type of 'event' we're talking about). It lists outdoors-oriented events like mountain festivals, BMC lectures, and mountain film nights, so you can schedule your adrenalin accordingly.
The plan is to list basic event information - like where, when, how much, and how do I get tickets? - all in one place, but we'll still write more in-depth news articles whenever a big event's coming up.
If you think we've missed something that a bundle of OMers might like to know about, drop us a line, and we'll update the calendar. It's celebrating its third birthday today (and that's three days, not three years) so it might well have a spot of growing left to do:-)
Happy organising ... Now, where did my Best of Kendal tickets get to?

Just letting you know we've put together an events calendar, to list the major mountain festivals, lectures, and events like the outdoors show. It's a bit hard to find at the moment (I'll have to sort that out when I get a moment) but I thought I'd post a message here so you can find it in the meantime ... http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/defaultEvents.asp?sp=&v=5
