RouteBuddy will now sell you the whole UK in 1:50,000 scale as a single package.
RouteBuddy,
the only company offering OS Mapping for the
iPhone and iPod Touch
using the Route Buddy Atlas application has announced new
OS Region Maps in
1:50,000 and 1:250,000 scales.

For £99.99 you can
now buy 1:50,000 scale mapping of the whole UK for your phone.
Alternatively, you can buy one of eight different region maps for
£39.99 apiece.
Also available are 1:250,000 - yes, the comma is in the right place -
region maps. The whole UK is £7.99 and eight individual
region maps are £3.99 each.
Maps are purchased and downloaded onto either PC or Mac then
transferred onto the iPhone or iPod Touch. Once loaded, they can be
used any time with no need for network coverage.
RouteBuddy Atlas also supports the iPhone's compass and GPS features
and can display and record tracks to view either in Google Earth or the
RouteBuddy desktop software.
We've been using RouteBuddy Atlas on an iPhone for the past month or
so. On the plus side, map reproduction is superb and the screen is
extremely clear and easy to read, even in sun-lit conditions. The
mapping software itself is still quite basic compared to other options
we've tried, notably ViewRanger on a Nokia Smartphone and, when in GPS
mode, power consumption is high.
RouteBuddy says that it's not standing still, so you can expect to see
developments in the future. For now though, if you want OS mapping on
the iPhone, this is the only way to get it commercially.

app itself can be downloaded free from the Apple App Store and used
with Open Street Map when you're online.
