New Website For Outdoor Lift Shares
Ecoclimber aims to help you cut your outdoors carbon footprint.

Walkers and climbers with an ecologically-friendly bent should take a
look at the new Ecoclimber
web site which aims to help you improve your ecological outdoor
credentials.
The site is run by climber and BMC member Zara Maung and carries a mix
of news-orientated blog posts, with information on, for example, the
most ecologically effective means of recycling your moribund climbing
gear.
Another fantastic idea is a lift share forum. It's just what it sounds
like, a chance to share lifts with fellow outdoors people, and in the
process reduce the environmental impact of your climbing trips.
We think it's a great idea. All too often a lack of effective public
transport in our mountain areas means walkers and climbers end up
driving as a necessary evil, but by sharing a lift with others going
the same way, you instantly reduce your carbon tyre-print - is there
any such thing as a carbon tyre-print? There is now...
