Pete's Eats - a classic contender?

The best thing about the outdoors? Well, tucking into a big slab of cake or a bacon buttie with a steaming mug of tea after a great day in the mountains is hard to beat eh?

We're putting together a top ten of the best outdoors caffs as nominated by you, OUTDOORSmagic members, and we'd like to know which is your favourite outdoors eatery, where it is, why you particularly like it and last but not least, the best thing on the menu in your opinion.

If you have a piccy of the caff in question, so much the better. And what's more, as an incentive, the person who submits what we judge to be the best nomination - editor's decision final - will win a post mountain nosh-up for two at the caff of their choice. You can say fairer than that and it's not often that OM buys tea and cake for anyone, so don't miss your chance.

Just e-mail us with your nomination and the subject line 'Top Caffs'.

Although not Caff's in the strictist terms, I have enjoyed to a greater and lesser extent, the fair served up at roadside/lay-by vans.
The best so far, was the caravan by the side of Loch Lubhair at the eastern approach to the village of Crianlarich. My bacon butties and my wife's lorne sausage baps were excellent and the tea and coffee srved up superb. All dished up with a friendly smile and coversation to boot. Just for good measure, the magic word for us walking types, was 'cheap' as well. Keep up the good work.
What's your best and worst?

I always like the kiost at Ogwen. After a 3/4 hour drive, usual stuck behind a lorry or caravan, its nice to have a cup of hot choc to warm up before you set out for the day.
