This is our regular Friday round-up of what's in store
for the weekend. Still no sign of the excellent Online Weather
mountain forecast.
• The Met
Office says it's a misty start for Saturday with rain edging east
later looks darker and wetter in the north west. Sunday slightly
better, with scattered rain. If you want to see where it's been
raining already - yeah, very useful - take a look at the rainfall
animation.
• The BBC
Weather site uses Met Office data, but is generally easier to
follow. General outlook for Saturday says mist and fog
clearing then cloud and freshening wind from the west with outbreaks
of rain. Some western parts getting drier and clearer later on.
Sunday more rain, some heavy plus fresh winds, gale force in
exposed parts. Hmmm... Check specific areas: Fort
William / Kendal
/ Betws-y-Coed
/ Aviemore
/ Skipton
/ Glossop
(Peak) / Brecon
/ Milton

will make it feel cooler.
• Saturday's
general forecast from Online Weather says cold front pushing
eastwards brings rain, though eastern areas may stay dry-ish till the
afternoon. Sunday
intense low means it'll be cloudy, rainy and windy (from the south)
pretty much everywhere.
It could be colder and wetter... Eastern areas may be dry till
Saturday afternoon.
But it's till not very nice.
Verdict Best pack your waterproofs and some warm mid-layers

Craven Disclaimer Hey come on, we all know
mountain weather's unpredictable, and while the above forecasts and
links are a guide to what the weather may do, remember that mountain
areas also tend to generate their own conditions, temperatures are
much cooler up top than in the valleys and conditions can be totally
different from down in the valleys.
