OM Forum Posts Now Editable

Correct your spelling blunders, tidy up your grammar or just explain what you really meant in the first place with our new facility which allows you to edit your forum posts :-)

Those nice people who brought you the OUTDOORSmagic forum have been hard at work again with the result that we have a neat new forum feature.

Forum posts are now editable. When you post on the forum from now on, you'll see a new option under your post saying 'Edit Message'.

Guess what, click on the button and a new field comes up which enables you to edit the message, just like our old mate Richard Gear...

Click update and your post will be updated. You have ten minutes to correct your original post, or until the next message in the thread is posted, whichever is longer, though effectively, once you've used the link, you have 30 minutes to sort your errors out.

And here's one we made earlier, thanks Richard :-) As you can see, it's also possible to re-edit your edit and there's a note saying that the original post has been edited, just so it's clear.

So there you go. If you haven't used the forum yet, there's a flipping great link to it on the menu bar up there at the top of the page, it says 'forum'. Go explore :-)

I've just posted this so I can illustrate the new editable forum posts facility. Cunning or what? But now I can add to my post, which is great. Thank you outdoors magic for making this possible.

The edit button disappears ten minutes after I've posted, or when the next post appears in the thread, whichever is longer. And it means I can add to my original post or correct the sort of dubious errors I specialise in.

Cool or what?

OK so I can now post a reply....

....and then add stuff to it.

At last I can correct all my typos

Yep, exactly :-)
