Images, Youtube clips, smilies, wysywyg formatting and much more besides :-)

The OUTDOORSmagic forum has just had a major upgrade which means
that it's now possible to post images, You Tube clips and smileys in
the forum and a lot more besides.
And because we appreciate that not everyone wants their bandwidth
cluttered up with images, we've also given you the option to turn the
feature off using the My
Forum section of your profile:

If you don't want to see the nasty images, just choose 'render as
link' and you'll just see a link, same with the 'forum smilies'.
If you're down with the kidz and fancy using the new forum
features, you'll find a whole load of new buttons above the reply box
at the bottom of the forum. Most of them are pretty self explanatory
and the nice thing is that it's now 'wisywyg', so if you format a
phrase in bold, it appears in bold, which is nice.
A bit more explanation on this
forum thread - we reckon it's a great improvement
and gives all sort of scope to liven things up, so get stuck in and
big thanks to the Magicalia tech guys :-)
Oh, one last thing, Mac users with Safari won't get the new options. If you want to use them, they work just fine with Firefox or Opera. Sorry about that.
Discuss this story
At some point soon you'll find a new menu located above the reply box in the forum, it's an upgrade to the forum which means:
• smilies etc.
• images within the forum post
• youtube clips on the forum
• wysywig formatting of text, so bold in the composing box actually looks bold.
• you can also use your 'My Forum' page to switch the feature on and off
• there's also a spellchecker if you're bothered about stuff like that.
Couple of things to note: one is that you need Javascript switched on for all the new gubbinses to work. Next is that Safari users on the Mac will just have normal formatting buttons because of incompatibilities, it says here. Mac users can still use Firefox or Opera and have full functionality though. You can also see other people's images etc.
That's it. It'll apparently be along in a short while, enjoy and please post any feedback / problems here.
