The NEC plays host to a load of new attractions for this year's Outdoors Show.
Just quick heads-up to let you know that the
OS Outdoors Show is
back for
2009
at its traditional home of the
NEC
in Birmingham.
The dates are
Friday
27 March - Sunday 29 March and it looks like the
organisers have lined up a wide range of cracking attractions including
the return of last year's awesome Ford SkyMasters aerial climbing
competition.
Along with that, you can see and try canoeing, mountain biking, diving,
climbing, beer at the Jennings Cumberland Arms, listen to Kerrang Radio
- trad outdoor heavy metal then? - and take in a huge range of lectures.
For a taster of what it was like last year, have a look at
the 2008 Show Video.
One interesting new idea is the
Elements
Theatre an indoor weather chamber where you can either
test your own gear or use some provided by top brands at the show.
There's going to be fog, wind and monsoon type rains and all without
leaving the NEC.
There are plenty of top
speakers
lined up for the various theatres including Sir Rannulph Fiennes, Mark
Beaumont - the round the world cyclist - Catherine Destivelle, Tim
Emmett, Simon Yates, Doug Scott and lots more.
Loads more besides like a
Ramblers
Walk-In Podiatry Clinic - free advice on any foot problem
- and the
Craghoppers
Travel Advice Centre where, unsurprisingly, you'll find a
stack of travel resources.
