RouteBuddy
now has 1:25,000 scale Ordnance
Survey National Park maps available for the iPhone, iPod
Touch and desktop Macs.
The maps retail for £19.99 and are available for all 15 of
the
UK's national parks and can be bought and downloaded to either a Mac or
a PC and then loaded onto an iPhone. The same map can also be used on a
Mac with the RouteBuddy desktop application.
RouteBuddy Atlas is the company's free iPhone application and can be
downloaded direct from the iTunes App Store. It uses the iPhone's
built-in GPS together with OS mapping and can record tracks to display
in Google Earth or RouteBuddy's desktop software.
Route Buddy is the only current commercial option for iPhone and Mac
users wanting to utilise Ordnance Survey mapping of the UK. It's quite
a slimmed down application at present, but we understand the RouteBuddy
is working hard to add extra features and functionality to make the
iPhone into a really effective outdoor navigational tool. Watch this
space.
