OUTDOORSmagic Lakes Meet-Up Details

Okay, after a lot of forum debate, here are the details of the second OUTDOORSmagic Members Meet-up in the Lakes.

Date is the weekend of 22/23 September. Meeting on the Friday night (or Saturday morning if you can't make Friday night)

Venue is the Gillside campsite just above Glenridding (see map) telephone: 017684 82346. Prices per night are £3 per person plus £1 per tent and £1 per vehicle. Dogs are permitted providing they're kept on a lead while on the site - a bit like OUTDOORSmagic really.

Transport There's already been some discussion of transport arrangements on the meets section of the forum and a number of people have offered to collect train users from the nearest station which is Windemere. Timetable details from the Railtrack web site.

What is it? We're all going to get naked and dance around the camp fire before a candle-lit ascent of Helvellyn... No really, it's a chance to have a relaxed weekend in the hills, put names and faces together, meet some other site members and generally have a good time.

Like the Snowdonia meet, it'll be organised in the loosest of senses, mainly in that we'll go down the pub together. During the day you can walk, scramble or climb depending on what you feel like doing. There's lots to go at, with Helvellyn definitely on the menu and a lot more besides.
