Share your routes with other OMers or simply map walks for your own personal use with our new site section...
The brand new OUTDOORSmagic
Routes Mapping System is now live, kicking and raring to go
in a multi-faceted, totally free sort of way.
Two Ways Of Using It!
1. The new system not only lets you upload walking and
scrambling routes and share them with other OM members complete
with a real OS map with the route marked on it powered by Anquet and
downloadable GPS data which you can use with a mapping software and
GPS unit.
2. You can also use the Route System's clever dot-to-dot
mapping facility to map any route and find out just how long
and how much climbing there is on your favourite walk - then save it
to your own My
Routes page where only you can see it.
The good news is that you can go back and edit your own routes
retrospectively, so you can choose later to share a route with other
members that initially you saved to your own private page.
Mapping A Route
You can simply upload GPS data in Anquet or Garmin form,
then add a route description.
Or you can use the cunning trace it on a map function to
click and joint waypoints along your chosen route.

Or you can enter waypoints manually as grid references
along with a route description and we'll convert the best routes into
fully mapped versions.
Finally you can upload any images you have from the route,
so people can see how it looks. Don't worry if you don't have any
piccies handy, you can always come back and add them later with other
details.
Searching For Routes
If you're off on a trip and want to see what's available, just use
the search form. We've given you lots of different ways to search
including regions and by keyword, so give it a go and see what you
find.
As a starter we've already added all our existing weekly walking
routes. Click on the route name and you'll get an OS map, GPS data
download buttons and a description of the route. Simple.

You can also check out a satellite view of the route, a road map
version and a handy hybrid. Neat huh?
What Does It Cost?
Absolutely nothing, nada, nichts... In true OUTDOORSmagic
tradition, it's a free routes and mapping system for you to enjoy. So
what are you waiting for, go and have a play... Oh, and enjoy :-)
