Pic Of The Month
A night's moon-gazing and a Lakeland stream lead the way to this month's sock paradise ...

We didn't publish the results of March's 'Photographer of the Month' competition on the first of April in case they were mistaken for an April fool - and also because we don't work on Sundays. We don't want to cover up any worthy OMers' glory though, so here they are now...
The first prize winner will soon be sinking his toes into three pairs of comfy new Trekker socks - possibly not all at once - while the runner-up runs off with a couple of pairs. That's all thanks to the friendly socky people at Bridgedale:-)
So, March's winner was Paul Langley, with 36 votes for this picture of Ashness Bridge:
The second placed pic is actually nineteen photos for the price of one, which Hamish Fenton took in a busy night's moon-gazing on 3rd - 4th March. If you want to know how he managed to capture the eclipse so perfectly, he reveals the secret here. All we'll say is that it puts paid to the idea that photography in Oxfordshire isn't very energetic:-)
There's a photography competition on the site every month, just for a bit of fun - and also because all those mountain pics beat any screensaver. You can enter simply by uploading your photos to the gallery and they'll automatically be in the running for Bridgedale sock glory. Also, we want to know what you got up to over Bank Holiday weekend, so email us your weekend snaps, with a line or two, and we'll publish the best ones on the site.
Wherever you're off to for the weekend, have a good one.
