Plague Of Web Cams Strikes Lakes...

Lots of new web cams in the Lake District with more to come as the lakeland web site network spreads ever wider. A great way of checking the conditions from your own home.

The mightly lakeland web empire is growing like a plague of triffids and with it more and more handly lakeland web cams. They're a fantastic way of checking out the latest on the ground conditions without leaving your desk, or maybe just getting a dose of scenery envy...

It all started off with The Wasdale Web and their latest cam shows Mosedale and Pillar complete with a rolling archive of nine pics. Spot the Wasdale Head Hotel in the foreground...

Then also from The Wasdale Web there's the Scafell Pike and Screes cam, showing England's highest mountain from the Strands Hotel in Nether Wasdale. Blimey, is that a cloud up there?

Then the empire expanded into Langdale with The Langdale Web complete with its own cam pointed squarely at Pavey Ark and Harrison Stickle.

Then there's The Buttermere Web complete with a cam churning out images of Wainwright's favourite lakeland peak, Haystacks along with neighbouring Fleetwith Pike.

Finally coming very soon is the new cam at The Coniston Web which - no prizes here - is aimed at Coniston Old Man.

And that's just the start, Lakeland web meister Guy Newbold tells us he's expecting the imminent launch of cams at Eskdale, Loweswater, Borrowdale and a new additional cam for Langdale, so watch this space.
