Along with the “Just In” Satmap ProShield that we previewed on 19th November and are currently putting through its paces, the folk at Satmap have been very busy.
Satmap have announced a new go-to-market strategy which will benefit customers by giving them a 33% price reduction on 80% of our Great Britain map titles. Their retailers will focus on selling the Active 10, Active 10 PLUS and Active 10 BIKE bundles and we will focus on the mapping. With this approach they’ve been able to reduce 155 of our maps by 33% which in real money ranges between £7.66 and £66.33.
They’ve also been busy on new software and new products – here is a round-up.

On Wednesday 24th November, we announced to customers Version 1.5 for the Active 10 and SatSYNC. The new software for the Active 10 is now available as an auto-update via SatSYNC and users can enjoy new features and functionality such as 6 colour tones for routes, improved power saving and a sun filter for improved visibility in bright sunlight. With SatSYNC Version 1.5 users can now customise their maps with new overlay features including Areas, Lines, Grids, and of course Points of Interest, which are grouped into a new category called Objects of Interest (OOIs). OOIs can support both text and pictures. OOIs can define boundaries, survey areas and other useful additions to mapping.
