A very, very quick snippet, apparently Prince William, heir to throne once removed and all-round toff, is to spend part of the summer working with a mountain rescue team.

The polo-playing fella is off to New Zealand to bond with the British and Irish Lions - apparently a rugby football team - before returning to the UK where, as part of his summer work experience, he will be joining an MRT.

He's also going to be working in the city, so we can look forward to some extended call-out times from young Mr Windsor.

"Joining a mountain rescue team really appealed to me as I can learn at first hand how these amazing people help save lives on a regular basis." He told journalists. Obviously inspired by cult BBC rescue drama Rockface is what we say, and who wasn't?

We have no idea which team he's due to join, but if you're unfortunate enough to be stretchered off a crag this summer in the wrong area, no, you're not hallucinating, the posh whippersnapper looking down at your really is Prince William.

More in passing in this BBC news story.
