Jamie Andrew, who lost both hands and feet to frostbite after a harrowing epic in the Alps in February 1999 is planning to ascend Ben Nevis on 18 June. It will be a serious challenge for Jamie, who is planning to raise money for two charities through sponsorship.

Half the money he raises will go towards funds for a new ' Jumbulance' , a specially modified vehicle for charity the Across Trust, which will be used to provide holidays for sick and disabled people across Europe and the UK.

The other half is destined for the Red Cross land mine relief fund. If you'd like to sponsor Jamie please e-mail him at jamie@bennevis2000.fsnet.co.uk.
