Less than a week before the Red Bull Northern Exposure kicks
off.... And head publicity honcho Steve Duffy, moonlighting from his
day job as editor of On The Hill promises an event that will 'blow competitors' minds, test
them to their physical and mental limits and take them through some
of the most beautiful terrain in the world.'
Steve Duffy commented: "Rather like last year's first UKATAK race
in Canada, Red Bull Northern Exposure has attracted only top class
athletes; even the non-racers have got amazing outdoor and sporting
pedigree.
'We've got MRT guys and international class enduro mountain bikers
and skiers competing against the likes of Team Parrot-Lythgoe and
Go-Lite Gore-Tex, and we're anticipating a hard, fast race. The
competitors have already been trying to second-guess the course and
disciplines, but we've got so many surprises up our sleeves that even
locally based teams won't know what hit them. We're all excited about
the course, it's going to really, really hurt!"
Silva is the latest company to get involved with the race, and
teams will be using their Multi-Navigator GPS units - a first
for adventure racing - although the organizers are remaining
coy about exactly how and when the racers will have access to the
units.
