ShAFF 2010 Coming Soon

A quick heads up for this year's Sheffield Adventure Film Festival which takes place at The Showroom on 12-14 March 2010 and includes the new ShAFF Youth Adventure Project.


ShAFF has now been running since 2006 with a mix of films from a wide spread of adventure sports including climbing, mountain biking, skiing, BASE jumping, mountaineering and paddling.

This year the event's being sponsored by Snow and Rock and it's looking good with some interesting-looking films on the programme including a number of UK premieres from the world's of climbing, mountaineering, BASE jumping and more.


There are full details on the Shaff web site, but two obvious highlights include a rare  opportunity to see the winner of the Best Climbing Film and Grand Prize at last year's Kendal Mountain Festival, 'First Ascent - Alone On The Wall', the story of two audacious free solos in Zion and Yosemite by young climber Alex Honnold.

Also a Kendal winner is The Asgard Project - an astonishing film by Alastair Lee based on Leo Houlding's recent expedition to Baffin Island. That's not the only Baffin film though, 'Asgard Jamming' follows a team of talented Belgians as they free climb a hard route on Mount Asgard.
