Prince Harry, a well known young officer cadet who is apparent;y
third in line for the throne, could be coming to a mountain near you
soon.
According to today's Mirror
newspaper, the Prince has opted for a 'tough mountaineering course'
as part of his Sandhurst training to refute suggestions that he is
too weedy for army training. The Mirror also claims that his nickname
at the officer training academy is 'Sicknote'.
The New Kerala newspaper in India is also taking a close interest
and quotes well-known mountaineering journal, Hello Magazine as saying
that he will have to 'prove his mettle on some of Europe's most
difficult mountains'.
'He will be taken to the Alps, North Wales, the Lake District or
Scotland to tackle gruelling rock faces in the dead of winter.' Says
the newspaper.
According to FemaleFirst,
who know about such things, 'the prince is an experienced climber, a
hobby he shares with older brother William - at the tender age of 13
he abseiled down a 156ft dam in Wales without a helmet or safety
rope.'
We look forward to seeing Harry on an OM Meet-Up soon... The good news is that brother William is going to be working with a Mountain Rescue Team this year, raising the interesting possibility of a Royal family rescue.
I'll get my tiarra...
