Skymasters Hits The Outdoors Show

Radical new indoors climbing competition to spice up the 2008 NEC event. And we're there too...

Looks like there's going to be something distinctly different on the indoor climbing front at this year's OS Outdoors Show with the first ever Skymasters climbing challenge in the UK.

It's a completely new take on indoor climbing with some of the best climbers in the world tackling a series of savagely overhanging and, erm, horizontal obstacles high above the exhibition hall floor.

The arena, which is being put together by indoor climbing specialists Entreprises, includes features like a giant stalactite, hanging barrels and chandeliers and an inverted pyramid.

The concept drawings we've see look absolutely bonkers and - whisper it quietly - a lot more interesting to the average viewer than the standard issue indoor climbing walls we're used to seeing at the annual NEC event.

When And Where?

The 2008 OS Outdoors Show runs from 14-16 March at the NEC in Birmingham. Full details at www.theoutdoorsshow.co.uk.

Finally, don't forget the OUTDOORSmagic OS Outdoors Show Ticket Offer which could save you up to £12 on ticket prices for two people.

Stop Press

We're going to be at the show on a joint stand with Anquet near the Cumberland Arms, where we'll be running a special show competition and telling you all about our new Routes Section.

We'll also be presenting the OM Outdoors Awards with a mystery outdoors celeb doing the honours on the Sunday of the show, so come along and say hello :-)

Will the Anquet chaps have a huge banner that they unfurl in front of Jon everytime he tries to talk to someone?

Isn't it great not to have that monstrosity at the top of each page.
