Support Mountain Rescue With TRAIL On eBay

Trail's second batch or rare outdoor stuff has gone live on eBay - what price tea for life at Pete's Eats or Alan Hinke's Gore-Tex one-piece fresh from Dhaulagiri then?

The nice people over at Trail Magazine are selling off their left over bric a brac on eBay again and as with last month's auction, all proceeds go to a very good cause, namely the Mountain Rescue Council (England and Wales)...

You can see the full selection of Trail's latest one-off specials together here but we've put together a quick run down with individual links because we're nice like that :-)

So get bidding - the close date is 20 July, so you still have a fair bit of time. You'll be glad to know that Trail now has a 100- per-cent positive feedback score.

Alan Hinkes's Oversuit

[ref: 6104212589]

'Fresh' from Hinkesy's successful ascent of Dhaulagiri is Alan's very own, one-off, one-piece Gore-Tex oversuit which was manufactured to his exacting specifications by his sponsor Berghaus. Ideal for climbing 8,000-metre peaks, possibly overkill for UK hill use. We're not sure if Alan's cleaned it since his return...

Mountains of the Mind - First edition plus proof

[ref: 6104212732]

Award-winning mountain literature from Robert Macfarlane that triiumphed in the 2003 Guardian First Book Award. The lot is not only a signed first edition of a classic in the making, but also an uncorrected reviewer's proof.

Montane Superfly Jacket

[ref: 6104212925]

This is the lightweight eVENT jacket that won Trail's waterproof lightweight jacket award and, coincidentally, totally impressed us here on OUTDOORSmagic with its combination of weight, breathability, cut and protection.

It's not just a standard Superfly though, it's one of a limited edition of 200 jackets in a very cool graphite, that's 'grey' to you', colour scheme that's otherwise not available till later in the year. Our test jacket is in the graphite and it looks awesome. It's brand new too, so you get to choose your own size.

Free Tea For Life At Pete's Eats

[ref:6104213108]

Fantastic, what you get is a special card which entitles you to a free pint of tea for life every day from the definitive mountain cafe in Llanberis High Street, 'unless Pete's Eats is wiped from the face of the earth by a meteor'.

Brilliant. Particularly if you happen to live in Llanberis. Otherwise you'll be spending a lot on transport...
