Take A Virtual Tour Of Everest
One of the best bits of the British Army, Everest West Ridge expedition web site is a Google Earth tour of the route complete with 3D fly through of Everest. Ideal for those Friday afternoon flat spots ;-)

If you've got those Friday blues and the odd half hour to kill,
let us waft you off to Everest for a Google Earth tour courtesy of
those friendly Army fellas on the West Ridge of the mountain.
As we've said before, the www.armyoneverest.mod.uk is a no
expense spared, all-singing, all-dancing, extravaganza - at least by
expedition web site standards - but one of the best bits is the
Google
Earth fly-by of the team's route on the mountain.
If you have the Google Earth programme installed on your computer
- Mac or PC - all you have to do is download the bookmark things from
the site (it's technical okay, we don't know what to call them) and
you can take a virtual tour of the route and a three-dimensional fly
through of the Everest area.
There's loads of information on each camp and part of the mountain
plus you can flit over to the Nepal side and check out parts of the
Everest Base Camp trek.
We were very taken with the view of Gorak Shep where you can pick
out the individual blue-roofed trekking lodges and make out the
well-trodden paths up to the classic viewpoint of Everest at Kalar
Patar. Ain't technology great :-)
