The Friday Distraction

In the spirit of Friday afternoon distraction, we thought you might like a heads up on a brilliant panoramic photo site which, purely by coincidence - ahem - just happens to have an awful lot of mountainscapes.


The site's called Gigapan and not only can you search for panoramic views by keyword - try Alps or Himalayas  for some stunning vistas, but once you've chosen a particular item, which are all user uploaded, you can then zoom and pan through the image and in many cases the results are absolutely stunning.

You can also launch Google Earth for a different perspective or choose a full-screen viewer

In fact we could happily spend the rest of Friday afternoon just browsing through the site, erm, not that we're going to of course...
