It may only be August, but the North Face has already announced
details of its 'Summit Series Lecture Tour' this autumn.
The tour will feature four of TNF's team of extreme athletes
revealing the secrets behind their adventures in audio-visual
presentations across the UK.
'The lectures will appeal to die-hard fans of the great outdoors
as well as those who like to learn about new areas', says TNF's Keith
Byrne. 'With gripping stories such as fighting off polar bears with
pots and pans!. Each lecture is brought to life with a mixture of
superb photography and films and we fully expect them all to be sold
out.'
The Team...
Legendary climbing taxman Mick Fowler will be talking about
a recent mountaineering trip to China. Baz Roberts, who
summited Everest in 2004, will thrill audiences with a talk on the
first winter ascent of the highest peak in the Arctic when he also
fought off a Polar Bear attack!
World renowned climber, Simone Moro, will inspire with a
talk on his 20-year climbing career that has taken him to some of the
remotest places on the face of our planet: from Patagonia to Russia
and the Alps to the Himalayas.
Leading kayaker and film-maker Justine Curvengen will leave
listeners in awe about the first all-female circumnavigation of
Tasmania and kayaking up the East coast of Kamchatka in Far Eastern
Russia when her team were arrested and their kayaks taken away on a
tank.
