They Think It's All Over...
Suspected foot and mouth case at Leicestershire slaughterhouse, provisional test results due later today

Worrying news from Leicestershire where a suspected case of foot
and mouth has been identified in a pig.
The pig, apparently a native of North Yorkshire, was slaughtered
on Thursday and test samples have been sent to the Institute for
Animal Health laboratory at Pirbright in Surrey.
Provisional results are expected today and a five-mile movement
restriction zone imposed both around the slaughterhouse and the farm
of origin near Selby.
The suspected case is the latest in a smattering of possible
outbreaks since the outbreak last year, so far all of them have
proved to be negative and hopefully the same will the true here.
