Todd Skinner Killed In Yosemite

A piece of sad news for the climbing world - Todd Skinner, who was a pioneer of big wall free climbing, died on Monday on a fixed ropes descent from Leaning Tower in Yosemite. Full details of the accident aren't yet known.

Todd Skinner was best known as the first person to free climb El Capitan. His other big wall free climbs included routes on Half Dome, Yosemite, and he also became a controversial figure for his use of sport climbing methods in trad areas. A memorial will be held for him this Saturday.
