Chris is one of the foremost UK advocates of lightweight backpacking
and his belief in keeping weight down is reflected in his choice of
footwear for the trip. He'll be using a pair of Brasher's Traklite
Quick shoes 'for fast cross-terrain use', some Traklite Trekker
sandals for hot conditions and a pair of Countrymaster trekking
poles.
Chris is quoted as saying: 'In order to explore the terrain I'll
be travelling as light as possible, though I will be carrying a
week's food or more on several occasions. Naturally my footwear needs
to be very light, but also durable and supportive with a good grip,
so Brasher's comfortable Traklite products are ideal. Together the
six items from Brasher weigh no more than 2152 grammes.'
Chris is going to be writing a book based on his trip which kicks
off on 12 August.
