Sobering news from Scotland where the BBC is reporting that rescue teams have searching for two missing climbers in the Cairngorms since yesterday, Tuesday.

The pair, described as experienced mountaineers, were apparently climbing in the Shelter Stone area as part of the BMC six-day International Wimter Meet. One of the two is a Czech national while the other is Scottish.

The Meet is an annual event where climbers from abroad are invited to visit the UK and stay at Glenmore Lodge for a taste of Scottish winter climbing guided by hosts from the UK.

The weather in the area has been bad with search teams unable to use a helicopter due to bad visibility and snow.

Regarding the item about the two climbers who were attending a meeting at Glenmore Lodge and had been missing since Tuesday in the Cairngorms, I have just heard that they have been found safe and well. It will interesting to hear what survival techniques these experience mountaineers used.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they said on North Sound Radio that they survived in a snow hole.

I was too busy trying not to slide into the car in front of me, so I missed the whole of the article. The roads are pretty damned icy this morning!

BBC report said they sheltered in a Bothy. Good news all round though.
