There have been two sad accidental deaths in the mountains over the past few days - a man died after falling approximately 80 feet on Skye and a woman was killed after a slip on Scafell.

The BBC reports that Neil Wylie, 34 from Carnoustie who was the manager of the Glenbrittle Youth Hostel on Skye died after falling approximately 80 feet while climbing on Sgurr a Mhadaidh and suffering serious head injuries.

The second accident took place on Scafell where the Sunday Mirror reports that a 49-year-old woman deom Birmingham was killed when she fell approximately 200 feet in the Lords Rake area of Scafell. The paper says that her companion dislocated his shoulder trying to reach her.

Our sympathies to the victims' friends and relatives. Be careful out there.
