Up For The Great Outdoors Quest?
Adventure racers wanted to get the 2008 Outdoors Show off to a cracking start...

The organisers of The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show, 2008 have a
bit of a challenge for you in the form of the Great Outdoors
Quest.
The what? Well, it works like this - and we quote:
'The
Great Outdoors Quest will take a selection of the UK's very best
adventure racers &endash; dump them at a TOP SECRET location
somewhere in the UK and in an attempt to separate the men from the
boys and women from the girls the teams will be need to fulfill a
number of tasks to discover who is the strongest, fittest and most
fearless and who can arrive at the opening of The Ordnance Survey
Outdoors Show first. The team first through the doors at the NEC on
Friday 14 March will win exclusive, money can't buy prizes.'
How To Enter
If that sounds like you, then the next step is to send in a short
video or powerpoint presentation showing why you should be chosen to
take part. Activities will include a selection of disciplines from
cycling to kayaking to climbing and abseiling with some surprises
thrown in too.

Teams should feature one man and one woman and at least one member
of each team should hold a full UK driving license. Contestants
will be required to be available between the dates of 11 and 14
March. All equipment needed for the challenge will be
provided.
The Show
The show takes place from Friday 14th March to Sunday 16th March
2008 at the NEC, Birmingham, This year's show will be staged in three
huge showcasing halls, 375 exhibitors and 25 thrilling new feature
areas will squeeze all they have to offer in the 31,000 m2 of
space.
