Oops, we got that one wrong:. Vertical Limit, the new Hollywood epic based around a dramatic rescue on K2 and starring Chris O'Donnell actually goes on general release in the UK this Friday 19 January and not last week as we erroneously told you.

Sorry about that, seems like the effects of Peak District altitude finally got to us and wiped out a few of the surviving brain cells. Anyway, be warned that you can expect to come across an awful lot of grumbling climbers muttering darkly about authenticity, the ludicrous climbing sequences etc, but what the hell, since when has Hollywood entertainment been realistic?

Watch out for mountaineering legend Ed Viesturs making a cameo appearance as, er, himself actually. More information from our previous articles - link at the bottom of this page - or check out the UK official Vertical Limit site you can download a Vertical Limit screensaver too (PC's only).

And if you want a laugh, check out this part of the site which features diagramatic boy and his numerous clickable altitude problems - useful to know if the heating fails in the cinema while you're watching...
