Everything's gone Wainwright - following on from the recent Wainwright podcast, brewers Daniel Thwaite has made Wainwright Ale available throughout the UK.

The straw-coloured 'blonde' beer was originally brewed as part of the brewery's bi-centenary celebrations earlier this year, but has proved so popular, that it's now part of the permanent range of ales on offer.

Jane King, AW's stepdaughter is delighted with the tie-up. "We are very pleased to think that AW will be commemorated in this way by a delicious beer from a Blackburn brewer," she says.

Marketing manager Lee Williams is also pleased to be a part of the Wainwright revival.

He says: "Alfred Wainwright was born in Blackburn in 1907 and during our bicentenary we wanted to honour one it's famous sons, who helped put our home brewing town on the map.

"Wainwright would have been celebrating 100 years himself this year and we thought it would be fantastic to brew a great Lancashire beer in his name, and the success of it has been phenomenal."

The ale is now available throughout the UK after being listed for sale by nationwide Mitchells & Butlers chain Ember Inns, as part of their Autumn Caskfresh Ale festival.

So now you can walk the fells with Wainwright's commentary and top the day off with a pint of ale brewed in his memory :-)
