Walker Dies In Crib Goch Fall

A man died last week after falling from the classic grade one Snowdon ridge.

Sad news from North Wales where a walker died after falling from Crib Goch on Snowdon last Thursday.

The man has been named as John Richard Norcross, 60, from Woodley near Stockport. Reportedly an experienced walker, he apparently fell around 300 feet from the narrow, exposed ridge which forms part of the classic grade one Snowdon Horseshoe route on the mountain.

Crib Goch isn't technically a difficult route - there are no awkward climbing moves involved - however it's very exposed with steep drops on either side in many sections and, like many knife-edged ridges can be tricky in high winds.

Our condolences to Mr Norcross's friends and family.
