A walker from Sheffield was found by rescue teams in Glencoe on Monday morning after becoming lost in the snow and darkness on Sunday evening.

Malcolm Leick, 48, dug a snowhole for shelter on Stob Coirre nan Lochan after realising he would be unable to reach the car park. During the night rescuers passed close by but failed to spot him. Worried about the risk of hypothermia, he stayed in the hole until daylight then walked out, reportedly meeting rescuers some 200 yards away from the car park.

It was only his second trip to the Highlands and the first time he'd ever constructed a snow hole. More details in this BBCi story and a closer look at his ordeal on Sheffield Today.

Not sure about this one. My money is on lucky at the moment. But fair play to him, appeared to keep his head and took shelter.
