A 71-year old fellwalker is missing on a section of the Pennine Way in County Durham.

Patrick Newell from Battersea lost contact with his walking partner near Deepdale Beck, Lunedale in Durham.

Police and rescue teams are looking for Mr Newell who is described as ' 5ft 8ins, slim, with grey hair, wearing black jogging pants, a blue-grey jacket, hiking boots and a black woollen hat.'

Oh, except he wasn't very missing after all, having spent the night hunkered down against the severe chill of the Durham night in a BandB.
