WasdaleWeb Launches Wasdale Web Cam

WasdaleWeb brings you live images of Great Gable beaming direct from Wasdale in the Lakes, or at least that's the idea.

WasdaleWeb - the site started by OM regular Guy Newbold to promote the beautiful Lakeland valley - now has its very own web cam.

So now not only can you check out a daily still photo of the valley on the WasdaleWeb weather page but live pics from the webcam which is pointing directly at Great Gable. There has been the odd teething problem and when we first put this article up, the picture was just a milky white blur, now though you'll be treated to the vista shown here. Nice.

The view will updates approximately every ten minutes and Guy's planning to change the orientatin of the camera through the year to provide different pictures.

Guy tells us that cam image quality will be improved in time and he's also got his eye on a new, wide-angled lens, external web cam, which will appear just as soon as he wins the lottery...

In the mean time you can link to Guy's cam using the image provided - see below -

Finally, for hill cam images from all over the UK, you can always check out the OM web cam page here.
