Ease back into real life with OUTDOORSmagic cushioning the shock. And to get you started, here are some lovely inversions from the gallery :-)
Yes, like the title says, we're back and fully - ahem - functional
after the Christmas New Year break and we'd just like to say Happy
New Year from everyone at OUTDOORSmagic.
That'll be me, Jon, the editor, Susan (assistant editor), Dave
(routes editor), Dominic, our commercial manager and all the people
behind the scenes who help the site run relatively smoothly from day
to day, particularly the tech guys.
Thanks too to our commercial partners, the companies who advertise
with us, without whom there wouldn't be an OUTDOORSmagic site.
The good news is that we've got some exciting new developments
coming soon and refinements to existing parts of the site. And the
forum, gallery and the review system just seem to get bigger and
better all the time.
Anyway... hope you had a great break and got out on the hills over
the break. Actually we know a lot of you did - the evidence is in the
Gallery in the form of some fantastic pictures.
In particular, the high pressure conditions before Christmas
created a lot of classic inversions, the situation where cloud pools
in the valleys, but the tops are left clear and sunny standing above
a sea of murk. When you break through above the cloud line, the
results are astonishing with peaks standing out like islands in the
cloud.
Here's RichardSun's evocative
shot of the Glyderau from Crib Goch as an example.
Or Geoff C's shot of a Lakeland
inversion viewed from Great End.
And one more from RichardSun, this is the South
Ridge of Snowdon peeping out above the clouds, nice :-)
Loads more great pics in the OUTDOORSmagic
Gallery and a reminder that all OM members have 3MB of free
space to upload their own outdoor images. Have a browse, it's
inspirational.
