This is our regular Friday round-up of what's in store
for the weekend, but it's been revised so that the clickable map
below is accessible all week round from the menu above in the 'Get
Outdoors' section.
And this weekend? Break out the waterproofs according to Online
Weather's mountain forecast. There's going to be 'significant
changes' in the next few days with gales sweeping in from deep
Atlantic depressions and a load of rain, especially in the north.
Temperatures around 12-13 degrees C on the tops today, Friday. Maybe
getting better in Scotland come Sunday.
Rain clearing east on Saturday then sunny spells and isolated
showers says the Met
Office, similar on Sunday. Rain in central and east clearing
graduallyis Saturday's
general forecast from Online Weather, most areas becoming dry
though. Sunday
a 'repeat of Saturday'. most dry with sunshine and some showers then
more rain and strong winds overnight.
Check the Met
Office three-day pressure animation to see those lows sweeping
in...
The rain doesn't look like being
sustained, lots of showers though
Sounds like the beginning of autumn as we know it.
Verdict Showery on the tops, with the possibility of heavy
rain in the mountains as always, so make sure you have your
waterproofs handy. Fleece and possibly hat and gloves for stops.
Access For latest access see our latest foot
and mouth update. Some areas in the N Yorks Moors are set to open
on Monday, meanwhile there's a new outbreak at Kirby Lonsdale in the
South Lakes.
