Weekend Weather 7/8 September 2001

This is our regular Friday round-up of what's in store for the weekend, but it's been revised so that the clickable map below is accessible all week round from the drop down menu above in the 'Get Outdoors' section.

And this weekend? Northerly winds are sweeping in bringing cold air and wintery showers in Scotland, but good visibility says Online Weather. Temperatures between 4 and 7 degrees C on the tops. Blustery and changeable says the Met Office, showery with sunshine at times on Saturday, similar in the east on Sunday but drier in the west according to Online's general forecast.

Sunny spells, decent visibility and it's not snowing yet
Getting cooler

Verdict Showery and cool on the tops, though the west looks better for Sunday. Make sure you pack a waterproof and a fleece for stops. Maybe even a hat and gloves for the tops.

Access For latest access see our latest foot and mouth update. Minor new re-openings in Lakes. Yorkshire access still far from complete.
