To celebrate the imminent arrival of winter - if you can believe the weather men that is - we thought it'd be nice to put together a selection of OUTDOORSmagic members' top winter days.

Striding Edge in winter - top day?

All you gave to do is send us an e-mail titled 'Best Winter Days' with your top three list plus a few sentences on why your number one winter day floats your boat. If you've got a winter photo to go with it, then so much the better.

At the end of the week, we'll go through all your e-mails a produce a definitive top ten of OM members choices. Plus the most inspirational choice will get a special mystery prize, which won't be coconut flake sprinkled chocolate marshmallow snowballs.

To kick things off, our fave winter days in no particular order are the traverse of An Teallach in full winter conditions for total scenic drama, Ben Nevis by the CMD Arete in perfect visibility for the incredible views of the North Face of the Ben - sit and gawp at the classic ridgelines in front of you - and Helvellyn in winter conditions for great scenery coupled with nice, but not too serious ridge scrambling.

So what are you waiting for? Get writing...

I have been thinking about Jon's request for us to send in details of our best winter days, and I'm finding it incredibly difficult. It's not that I haven't had any, I'm sure I've had loads, its just that the ones I remember most vividly are the ones when there has been some sort of epic. I can recall loads of those of varying degrees of terrifyingness, but they may not have the desired "inspirational" quality.
Something to do with the weather I think :-)
Still, I'm looking forward to reading other people's accounts.

Best Winter Days... Ohh that is a tough one.

But Red Screes from Ambleside is gr8. All (well OK most) of the views of the Fairfield Horseshoe, a tenth of the crowds.

Desend via scandale pass, or if uve got time brave the crowds and continue onto Fairfield.
