A Welsh farmer who went ballistic and drove a mechanical hedge trimmer at a group of 20 walkers including a blind man has been ordered to attend anger management classes.

Richard Jones, 55, of Maeshafn near Mold apparently screamed at the walkers to 'get back on the road where you belong' after they stepped to one side on a public highway to let the tractor past. The machine was set at shoulder height and not surprisingly, the walkers were terrified.

He was sentenced to a 12-month community rehabilitation order, but was told by magistrates that he had 'come within and ace of going into custody'.
