Who Needs Nanga Parbat...

Who needs Nanga Parbat when you have gorse bushes?
In a slightly lower profile rescue than that of Tomaz Humar on
Nanga Parbat, a man was winched to safety by a rescue helicopter
after being trapped for two days in the middle of an area of
eight-foot high gorse bushes on a cliff face near Filey, Noth Yorks.
The man was apparently spotted after he was seen waving a lighter
on Tuesday but couldn't be reached by normal means, so a helicopter
was called in.
According to a report on the BBC News web site, the winchman
commented: ""He was right in the middle of the gorse," he said. "It
was like he'd been dropped there by a spaceship."
Like Huber, the man was very tired and cold, but has apparently
suffered no long term damage. As yet, no-one seems to have any idea
how he found himself surrounded by gorse bushes. Our money is on aDay
of the Triffids scenario, however we reckon it'll be hushed up to
avoid causing panic...
