We like this one, the National Mountain Centre at Plas y Brenin in
North Wales is running a Guided
Walks and Wine Tasting weekend in March 2009.
 'Snowdonia
Uncorked' takes place on 14-15 March and is designed as an introduction
to both Snowdonian hillwalking and the joys of wine quaffing and billed
as 'informal, fun and not too strenuous or mentally demanding'.
You get a gentle 3-4 hour guided walk each day with lots of time to
take in the views and discuss the local environment with the guide,
then you return to Plas y Brenin for tea, cake and inspiration.
On the Saturday evening, there's a wine-tasting session when you'll be
able to sample wines from all around the world, learn how to appreciate
them and draw up a hit-list of your favourite wine and grape types for
future reference. Er, that's not exactly how PyB puts it, but that's
how we understand it anyway.
Cost is £145 for two days of guided walking, meals and
accommodation and, of course, the all important wine tasting session.
