World's Largest Bouldering Wall For Sheffield
One thousand square metres of bouldering will be opening in Sheffield at the end of this year - more than most climbing walls in the country have for climbing and bouldering combined. Sounds exciting to us:-)

Life will get even more exciting than usual for boulderers in Sheffield this December when the world's largest bouldering wall opens. It will include an international competition wall, children's boulders, the country's biggest campus and training board, crèche and sports massage facilities, frequently re-set 50-problem circuits and ... wait for it (cue fanfare) ... a massive 1000 square metres of bouldering. Finding that hard to imagine? Well to put it in context, there aren't many climbing walls in Britain with a larger area for bouldering AND climbing combined. If you're still having trouble picturing it, think of a go-kart track, build walls around it, pack the place with boulders and ... hey presto!
The men behind the venture are top route-setter, Percy Bishton, and Sales Manager of 'Beyond Hope', Sam Whittaker. If you agree with them that the Edge, the Foundry and the Matrix (and the entire Peak District:-) aren't quite enough to keep Sheffield boulderers ticking, then watch this space for more information. We'll keep you posted when the wall's open.
