Question:
Where can I find the replacement hydration system for my North Face Hammerhead pack? I've tried looking online, i dont want to buy the whole thing again as the bag is fine.

Answer:
Hi there,

The name is Gear, Richard 'Bladder' Gear. The good news is that you should be able to fit Source WXP hydration systempretty much any 3-litre hydration bladder into your Hammerhead, so you're not tied to the original bladder supplied with the pack.

If you do like the bladder, the chances are that it's one of the ones made for TNF by Nalgene, and you may be able to find one sold under that brand name. That said, I think there are better choices out there right now.

My favourite hydration systems at the moment are made by Source, they have a brilliant interior treatment that's glassy smooth and makes them reluctant to go mouldy and very easy to clean.

The new WXP series is a cracker with a combined wide opening for easy cleaning and a screw-top for quick, one-handed filling.

The bite-valve supplied with Source bladders is, I think, on a par with the Nalgene one,  but you could always fit your old bite valve if you want to - particularly if it has a magnetic attachment which you like - or, even better, use a Camelbak Big Gulp valve for maximum flow.

Happy hydrating.

Yours helpfully

Richard G
