More about Grivel

RRP: £30
Year: 2006 - 2007

Description: Grivel Condor up-grades walking poles with a new high performance grip, creating a new pole able to cope with situations beyond the scope of a normal one. Just substitute the top part of your telescopic pole with the one fitted with the Condor. Poles made in one piece can be fitted with just the grip. The Grip is made in two materials, the yellow part for solidity and the black for thermal insulation and comfort. The serrated steel hot forged blade ensures a proper bite. T shaped for strength and protection when closed. No nasty bits sticking out ready to cut or get in the way when the blade is folded away. The Condor can be gripped in a vertical position for traction or horizontally to bear weight. When descending, turn the blade towards the slope ready to self-arrest. The closed grip always keeps the hand protected, whether the blade is folded away or, above all, when the blade is open. As the hand is always protected it doesn’t risk injury against the rock face and is protected from touching cold surfaces or snow. For safety’s sake the blade is kept locked into an open or shut position by the black screw knob. Turn your trekking pole into a mountain pole: for expert trekkers who might find dangerous icy conditions at the beginning or end of the season. For casual mountaineers that wouldn’t usually take an ice axe with them. Turn your ski touring pole into a safety pole: for ski tourers who want to have the reassurance of being able to count on a real blade during steep ascents or descending icy tracts. Turn your ski pole into a free ride pole: for free riders for almost all the tricks they get up to off-piste, whether in ascent or descent.
