'Dead comfy walking/scrambling boot'
Strengths:
Requires little or no 'breaking in'. Confortable fit, good weight and supportive. Crafty 'lace lock' thingy system is dead clever.
Weaknesses:
None detected so far, although liner could make things sweaty in hot conditions. Insole starting to wear a bit.
Overall:
Have taken these on a couple of trips to Snowdonia etc and they appear to be good low level walkers/scramblers. Wouldn't take them above the snow line, but I guess thats not what they are for. All in all good value for £90.

'I'D TRUST MY LIFE WITH THESE...'
Strengths:
Very comfortable - immediately. Good grip on wet rocks. Keep your feet dry. Light
Weaknesses:
Well, they would keep your feet dry if you don't sweat as much as me. The uppers tend to seperate from the soles after much use. They do tend to retain one's foot odour - even if you do, as recommended, remove insoles overnight.
Overall:
They lasted over 1000 miles of rocky Appalachian trail before starting to fall apart. I reckon that's good going.

'NO MORE BLISTERS'
Strengths:
A very comfortable pair of boots that have finally solved my blister problems.
Weaknesses:
After a year of fairly regular use the insoles are looking worn and the sole is starting to come away from the upper.
Overall:
I have had big problems with boots in the past but these fit me perfectly. I would definitely buy them again. I would also recommend trying on both the men's and women's versions to see which suits you best - I found the women's version too small.

A very comfortable boot not requiring any breaking in. Toe protection is very good. Locking laces are excellent.Gortex liner works well keeping you dry.
Weaknesses:
strange rolling action when first put on but quickly get used to it. colour fades after a few 100 miles( blue )
Overall:
well satisfied during high level walks in scotland on rock and lower level walking on scree and grassy slopes.super comfort and support, good value for money-now even better -well discounted get some quick!!

'SLIPPERS WITH AN OFF ROAD TREAD!'
Strengths:
Slippers! The most comfortable new boot I've ever had. They have the feel of comfy slippers with the sure footedness of a mountain goat! And the weight & toe rand aren't to shabby either.
Weaknesses:
Am I the only one who keeps catching the lace from one boot in the speed lace hook of the other? (I now walk like I'm in crampons all year round) The hooks could be a little more closed over. Interested to see how long the softer sole will last.
Overall:
These are the first salomon boots I've tried and they certainly do not disappoint. Until now I have been a Vibram sole and Scarpa preacher. These Salamon may just have me converted. I wait to see how long they last

'SUPER COMFY'
Strengths:
very comfy
hard wearing
Gore-Tex lining does the trick
Weaknesses:
I found the top lace hooks tend to pull off easily
Overall:
A great boot, especially for the price - I got them free from Salamon, whilst working as a ski technician!
