'SO COMFORTABLE YOU FORGET YOU'RE WEARING THEM'
Strengths:
Superb torsionally stiff sole unit and heel box
Comfort from the box
Brilliant for summer tramping or lounging
Relatively light and ventilated
Weaknesses:
Look bit like trainers
Fiddly tongue/lace/loop thingy is annoying, would prefer metal hook/eye.
Side of sole has shown wear within a few months
Not grippy on greasy surfaces, due to knobbly tread.
Overall:
Ideal for foreign holidays. However, I would purchase Salamon Exit Low next time, despite excellent stiff sole unit.

'AMAZING COMFORT BUT LACKS BUILD QUALITY'
Strengths:
Slipper like comfort
Good grip on most surfaces (hard & wet surfaces can be interesting)
Weaknesses:
I've had these shoes for about 8 months and wear them pretty much every day, unfortuanately they're starting to fall apart already - fabric areas that shouldn't take that much abuse.
Overall:
I think that the fashion/looks of these shoes was a little more important than the build, very comfortable but definatley not long lasting. I think I'll be trying something different next time.

'SO - SO...ISH (CHAMELEON VELOCITY)'
Strengths:
comfertable, bit of breaking in but after that a joy to wear, can (and do) wear them all day, every day, will look better for longer than a pair of trainers
Weaknesses:
sole - nightmare bordering on lethal (and that's just on the street)
Customer service was c*$p - not impressed!
Overall:
had mine just over 3weeks when i found a hole in the lining...shoes were sent back to the shop who then sent them to Merrell who after over two weeks decreed that this was my fault and sent them back. I disputed this and had a bit of a "discussion" with the manager. To cut a long story short 5weeks after being returned i got a new pair (which have served me fine) that were to the best of my knowledge payed for by the shop

'WATCH OUT FOR HEEL CUP CAUSING BLISTERS'
Strengths:
Light comfortable, good sole.
Weaknesses:
Within 6 months, the plastic heel cup was wearing through the foam padding at the back of the heel, causing real bad blisters. Sent them back, were replaced with another pair that did exactly the same. Be warned!!
Overall:
Really nice shoe if they can sort out the heel cup problem.

'SUSPECT BUILD QUALITY...'
Strengths:
Look good (love that sole).
Weaknesses:
Two days after getting them, the rubber was already seperating from the toe...They sponge up water, so stay out the puddles, but to be fair the inners dry out pretty quick. Get 'em wet, though, and the outer surface'll still be drying out weeks later... They also took a long time to wear in, but were pretty comfortable after that.
Overall:
Overall I was disapointed, 'cause I liked the look of them - I try and stay off wet rock, though, as they're pretty slippy, despite appearances. Would I spend my money the same again? Probably not.
