'GREAT FUNCTION, EXCELLENTLY MADE AND SURPRISINGLY TOUGH SOCK'
Strengths:
Coolmax performs very well in most warm conditions, excellent liner or used as double layer, flat stitching reduces rubbing
Weaknesses:
None really - but being thin, will eventually wear through.
Overall:
Full credit to Bridgedale for a totally functional and high quality sock. I have owned several pairs of these brilliant socks and use them at least three times a week for all kinds of sporting uses. Worn on their own they make a great light-weight sock for travel in warm weather, even coping OK inside leather hiking boots for lighter use. Worn under a heavy woollen sock they are great for winter use as they dispose of moisture excellently. And for me they have been most useful worn as a double pair for long-distance running and light hiking.

They are conveniently sold as two pairs - try wearing one inside the other and going for a 20km run. The inner layer holds well to the foot and the outer layer glides over the top cutting down the risk of blistering enormously. I have 'problem feet', having had corrective surgery as an infant, so I am seriously prone to blisters as my feet are not shoe-shaped. Bridgedale liners have been my ticket to literally hundreds of miles of blister-free running. I know a lot of manufacturers (e.g. 1000 mile) that do a two-in-one sock… but I doubt they perform as well as two layers of these. And they are certainly not going to be more versatile. I use X-socks for running in cooler weather but these cope better with the heat and dry quicker.

The old version was lower cut, and worked better for the kind of running use I describe but the newer version is better for longer boot socks and still copes ok for other uses. Unreservedly recommended.

'THE BEST. . . . SO FAR. . . . '
Strengths:
Very lightweight and wickable, thus, great as a base layer for other socks in winter or an ultralight option in summer. Very good fit to eliminate boot rubbings (Not that I have ever had troubles with blisters, but, the missus reckons they work!). . . Very quick dry time . . Great if you're in tropical/humid areas where you need a sock to 'dry itself' . . . This sock actually wants to get dry!!!
Weaknesses:
None
Overall:
If you are looking for an enduring, light summer sock / winter base layer. . . get some. . . . I have a pair that are over 2 years old and I know i'll lose them in the 'washing machine black hole' before I wear them out !!!

'Quick to wick, but do they fit?'
Strengths:
Excellent wicking and comfort. Dry out quickly.
Weaknesses:
Somewhat baggy fit (on my wide, size 5/6 feet), with little stretch.
Overall:
I preferred the previous incarnation of this sock, which was better-fitting and softer-feeling, but was only recommended as a liner.

But the new ones are nearly as good, and do the same job of preventing rubbing whilst keeping your outer sock cleaner for longer.

'NICE'
Strengths:
Unlike Joan I found the fit excellent, being a size 11 the medium stretched to fit with no baggy bits
I've worn them just as socks and as liners and they are fine although not yet in sweaty conditions so can't comment on their wicking abliities
Weaknesses:
none detected so far
Overall:
my first foray into 'proper' liner socks and I'm sold

'WOULDN'T USE ANYTHING ELSE'
Strengths:
Very thin, very breathable. Good value in 2 pair packs. Flat sewn seams are a benefit.
Weaknesses:
None really. One pair are worn out after 3 years - not bad when you consider how thin they are.
Overall:
superb.

'THIN, QUICK DRYING, WICKING LINER SOCK.'
Strengths:
Excellent wicking and dry extremely quickly.
Helps prevent blisters.
Hard wearing.
Weaknesses:
None
Overall:
A very thin liner sock that helps prevent blisters by letting the outer sock rub against this rather than your skin.
Startlingly quick drying time when you take your feet out for a breather.
Can't heap enough praise on them. Buy some.
